Pacha Surf Beach

Pacha Surf Beach is particularly suitable for beginners and intermediates due to its wide sandy beach, waist-deep water and constant side-onshore wind. The sand is incredibly fine and has no stones or shells. The water is calm and you will have a mixture of flat water, chop and small waves. There are no reefs or rocks, making it one of the safest kitesurfing spots in the world.

At the kite centre you have everything you need: launch and landing support, rescue service, storage, changing rooms and a dedicated kite area for packing, washing and drying your kite equipment. Our beach bar offers cocktails and food, comfortable sunbeds, hammocks and swings. You have access to clean toilets and showers.

We are one of the few kitesurfing centres along Velika Plaza that makes sure that there are no swimmers in the kite zone during the windy hours of the day.

A few kilometres downwind there is a river mouth with perfectly flat water. It’s one of the best flat water spots you’ll ever find! Due to the slight current, this spot is only suitable for advanced kitesurfers.

Season & Kite sizes

From May to September, the Albanian Alps in the south provide very steady thermal winds that reach the coast at 16 to 22 knots in the early afternoon. In kite sizes this usually means 9 – 12m2 in high season and larger kites in May and September, usually 12 – 15m2.

If you come in July or August, wetsuits are not necessary unless you get sunburnt easily. In the months of May and September we advise kitesurfers to wear a long wetsuit (2/3) or shorty.

Wind & Gezeiten

The wind usually picks up in the early afternoon. So you can relax in the morning or explore the surrounding area and nature. Let our team give you advice on where to go and what you should definitely see! As there are no tides in Montenegro, you can start kitesurfing as soon as the wind picks up.

In a normal wind season, we have 4-6 days with winds of 12 knots or more in the months of May to mid-September. The best months for kiting are June, July and August. April can also be a very good month, but all kite schools open in May or June. If you are visiting Montenegro outside the kitesurfing season, write us an email as we can still kite and give lessons.
